Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or College Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application procedure.

Applications at the moment are open and will close on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should fulfill the following criteria:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a home with a combined gross family income that does not exceed R350 000 per annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined family cash flow does not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and need not submit any evidence of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.

Applicants are reminded to provide the proper Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored of their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are learning or intend to research in a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply nsfas login timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
